(More customer reviews)We have owned this washer ( and dryer set) for 15 months. It is without question...JUNK! I read all the on line reviews and researched before we made our buying decisions and like most of you accept that the 4 or 5 people who " got a bad one" will always post their experiance. Here is my ownership thus far:
CONS :
> Too expensive.
> Front loader Technology isnt debugged. This machine is "level" from every angle and will walk around the laundry room. Seriously, forget going outside to mow the lawn or shovel snow. One load is fine the next sets it in orbit. I "forgot" a load and it sat in the machine overnight. I added soap and restarted it. It SLAMMED around until I do my usual......... stop the machine, pull wet clothes half out & reposition them and re start. A 45 minute "money savings" HI efficiancy wash cycle is more like 70 min! Oh yea, if the machine is able to catch the imbalance, it tumbles the clothes and adds minutes to the wash cyle. (YES I have read the owners manual on how to properly load the machine)Which by the way, if you are one of those weirdos like me that wear a shirt when you wear pants you will need to buy 3 weeks worth of clothes. Pants need to be washed with pants ( ect) or it wont "balance".
> TOO LOUD for first floor laundry. My salesman when " ohhh" when I told him it was going on the main level.
> You will become a maintenance person ! YOU MUST clean the main pump trap monthly, wash out the basket every few weeks, wipe the door gasket after every use and leave the door open so you dont get interior MOLD.
> My salesman convinced me to buy the extended warrenty because you can be charged a " trip charge" SAY WHAT ?? yep even though the parts and labor are covered, repair techs are free to charge you a trip charge.
PROS: Its pretty
Buy a TOP LOADER and stay away from this GE Model !
PS I've wrote GE and got no results. "I'll get back with ya" That was 12 months ago...
